This board is informational, not a launch authorization. Club boats and boards may not be used during a Small Craft Advisory, Gale or Storm Warning, or high surf. The final call always rests with the on-water coach and the official NWS forecast. Wind is the direction it blows from — westerly winds are offshore here and push paddlers away from the launch. Water temperature is from NWS Chicago's nearshore product (Wilmette buoy, then Waukegan / Chicago Shore). Waves are the Wilmette buoy's measured significant height when it's reporting (≈ May–Oct), otherwise the NWS forecast.
